“Life is short ” is an educational workshop that uses short films as a tool for developing emotional inteligence and critical thinking.

Every session includes the screening of short films of international recognition. Then, under the guidance of a tutor, the students reflects on the stories and world views that every film portrays, while creating their own conclussions and expresing their thoughts and points of view. The tutor, usually a filmmaker or a teacher, presents the screening of films as a way of aproaching self-knowledge and exploring world subjects, generating an interaction between the audience and the works, trough techniques that include open discussions, creative exercises and the developing of their own stories.

This workshop let the students exercise their ability to recognize their own emotions, empathize with their peers and learn to understand cinema as a creative and stimulating artistic process. “Life is short” seeks to bring content directly to communities, focusing in lower income schools, community centers and public spaces, allowing to attack the economic barrier that separates thousands of people from the art of cinema.
